FKS family,

You would think that the last 2 weeks of school would see things begin to take on a slower pace and calm down... Wrong! So many events, activities and celebrations here at FKS. See some of the activity descriptions and pictures below. At this time of year we feel a mixed sens of emotion. We are filled with a sense of saddness as the year winds down but also excitement for all the wonderful things to come. As always, keep an eye on the calendar and take a moment to be as proud of your child as we have been this year as we helped them navigate challenges and successes on their path to becoming a psoitive member of the community.

5th Grade Clap Out

Dear 5th Grade Parents,

We are thrilled to to invite you to a special 5th grade clap out on the last day of school! The purpose of the clap out is for 5th grade families and the school community to acknowledge our oldest students who will be taking their last walk through the halls and grounds of Flocktown-Kossmann.

Details: Thursday, June 12th

11:40 am

• 3rd and 4th grade students will line up in the bus lane outside Flocktown gym

• Parents will line up in the bus lane half way between Flocktown and Kossmann

• PK/K/1/2 will line up in the bus lane outside Kossmann

11:45 am

• 5th graders will exit Flocktown at the Gym doors, go down the bus lane to Kossmann flagpole then loop back up the bus lane to Flocktown to the thunderous applause of all those present (If quick, we can do 2 laps).

• PK-2 will go back inside Kossmann

• 3-4 will go back inside Flocktown

• 5th graders will move to the Flocktown playground area

• Brief farewell from the principal will culminate the celebration.

• Students will gather by class.

• Teachers will stage a photo opportunity. 

• Teachers will sign out students leaving directly from the parade.

• Teachers will return to the classroom with students taking the bus for a regular dismissal. 

Note: Early sign out for siblings will be discouraged. This is a special 5th grade privilege.

Memorial Day Ceremony

We were honored to have members of the American Veterans Association of Washington Township Post 1776 to share with us a recognition of Memorial Day to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country around the world in defense of our freedoms. The veterans with us served during war and peace time and represented almost all branches of our military. We welcomed them to FKS so that we could recognize and thank them for their selfless service to our country, and as a reminder on how important veterans are to our nation and the nations wherever they served.
