Highlights from Last Week
BUS EVACUATION DRILL: Last Friday LVMS students participated in an AM Bus Evacuation Drill. Students practices a rear emergency exit. There will be a second bus drill in the Spring.
PANTHER CHATS: Thank you to those that attended Panther Chats last week. We look forward to hosting our second chat in January or February.
WINTER SPORTS UPDATE: As a reminder, the deadline to submit Winter Sports Physicals and Paperwork has closed. Paperwork can no longer be accepted.
STUFF THE BUS: Thank you to all that donated items for the "Stuff the Bus" item drive. Items were delivered to the LV Interfaith Food Pantry.
HALLOWEEN DANCE: Thank you to the LVMS Student Council for sponsoring the 7th and 8th Grade Halloween Dance!

Halloween at LVMS
On Thursday, October 31st, some students may choose to wear a Halloween Costume to school. The LVMS staff is supportive of this and annually look forward to a fun day seeing students in their costumes enjoying the day. Please remember, any costumes worn on Halloween MUST adhere to the LVMS Dress Code. Additionally, any props, carried items, weapons, masks, costumes that make difficulty walking, or items that promote excessive violence or gore, will not be permitted at LVMS.
Parent Teacher Conference Information
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled to begin on Monday, November 4th and conclude on Wednesday, November 6th. Many staff members have already began to schedule conferences with families. Due to the number of students, conferences are scheduled at the teachers request first. Parents are always encouraged to request a conference at any point by reaching out to the team of teachers.
Reminder! All dates follow the LVMS Early Dismissal Schedule (1:35 PM Ending Time)
Due to the volume of conferences, teams may schedule meetings outside of 11/4 - 11/6
Club Information
Modern Dance Information Meeting
The LVMS Modern Dance Company will hold an interest meeting on Friday, November 1st in Mrs. Pinto's office 3:30-4:15pm. Come dressed to dance, bring ideas for choreography, and your schedules. If you have any questions feel free to stop down and talk to Mrs. Pinto.
Red Ribbon Week
This week is Red Ribbon Week which will also be a spirit week! Red Ribbon Week is an annual campaign held in the United States to raise awareness about drug prevention and encourage youth to live drug-free lives.

8th Grade Ads
The Yearbook Staff at Long Valley Middle School invites you to make a memorable addition to the 2024-25 Yearbook in the form of a WELL WISHER. Some parents surprise their graduate with this gift. All Ads must be purchased by February 15, 2025. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS will be accepted beyond that submission date. Only one ad per student is allowed.

Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer - Mr. Demarest
Lady Panther players should clean their uniforms and put them in a labeled bag for the coach. You can turn them in at the end-of-the-season party. Girls should listen for the party date on announcements. Great season girls you were a pleasure to coach.
Boys Soccer
Boys Soccer - Mr. Petrucelli
The boys soccer team will play #1 seeded Pequannock this afternoon, with the winner advancing to the Morris County Group 3 championship game. Dismissal for the game will be at 2:20. Good luck today!

Winter Sports 2024-25
The deadline to submit paperwork and physicals for Winter Sports has closed!
Tryouts for Boys and Girls Basketball are scheduled for 11/11 - 11/13 from 3:30 - 5pm
Athletes need to sign up for try outs in the Guidance office

PENNY WARS IS BACK! October 28 - November 1
The LVMS PTA is sponsoring Penny Wars during all lunch periods next week, October 25th- November 1st. Each house will have their own bin to put coins in. All coins are worth points and all bills subtract points. The house with the most points will win Spirit Points for House Wars.

The Scholastic Book Fair is Back!
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at LVMS November 12th - 15th. Students can shop during the school day. More information about payment, eWallet, etc. will be shared in the next few weeks!
This year the LVMS PTA is partnering with GotSneakers as a year-round fundraiser. To participate, simply drop your pairs of used athletic shoes in the available box that will be located in the LVMS lobby starting September 17. If you would like to know more about GotSneakers and their mission to reduce waste, you can read about them here.
