Attention 7th Grade Students! |
As you may recall, at the start of the school year, information about "Gym Buddies" was shared with students and families. As we move into the second portion of the school year, we wanted to invite students again to make sure any 7th-grade student interested has the opportunity to participate. This program will give students in general education the opportunity to apply to become Gym Buddies—peer participants who will engage in collaborative games, team-building activities, and fitness challenges alongside students who receive additional learning or support services.
Please reach out to Mrs. Hollman, 7th Grade Counselor, if you have any questions. Additionally, if interested, please complete the interest form (included below) if you would like to be considered for this great program.
The deadline to apply has been extended to Friday, February 27th What does a Gym Buddy do? Gym Buddies help create a welcoming, encouraging environment in PE class. They lead by example, show kindness and patience, and form meaningful connections with peers. This is a great opportunity for students who enjoy helping others, value inclusivity, and want to make a positive impact in our school community.
Who should apply? We are looking for students who...
Show empathy, respect, and responsibility
Work well with others and follow directions
Are enthusiastic about physical activity and teamwork
Want to build leadership and communication skills

Black History Month 2026 “A Century of Black History Commemorations” 2026 will mark the 100th anniversary of Black History Month! Originating in 1926 when Dr. Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week, the foundation of what later became Black History Month. The 2026 theme invites reflection on a century of studying, preserving, and celebrating Black history and the transformative impact those commemorations have had on American understanding and culture.
In classes, students will explore African American history through the content and curriculum, reflecting on the people, events, and contributions that have shaped our nation over the past century and beyond. The LVMS Library will also have featured titles and recommendations of books available to students to recognize prominent African American authors, characters, and stories. |

Spring Fundraiser - The Power of Purpose! (PoP)
We are excited to announce that the LVMS PTA will be partnering with The Power of Purpose! (PoP) for our Spring Fundraiser. This fun and easy program will raise funds to enhance student programs, which will directly benefit our students and staff.
The official launch of this event happened on Wednesday, February 11th, with a brief presentation for all students during their support period. In partnership with the PTA, and to support their efforts, we will also send reminder emails throughout the campaign. We are hopeful this will be a successful fundraiser for our PTA and, more importantly, help bring to life an engaging program and a culminating “Best Day Ever” activity for our students, planned for June.

National PTA Reflections: 2025-2026
We are proud to celebrate Morris County students who participated at the county level in the 2025–2026 National PTA Reflections program! This year’s theme, “I Belong,” inspired an outstanding collection of creative and meaningful entries.
An impressive 41 student entries across all art categories and grade divisions will advance to the New Jersey PTA (NJPTA) for the next round of judging. The artistic talent and dedication of our students continue to make our county proud! The NJPTA judging phase will conclude in early March, with results announced shortly thereafter. We are confident Morris County will be strongly represented at the state level and beyond.
Congratulations: Leah Cox & Amelia Galgocy! |
